Dupes for La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5

The viral La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 is a well loved moisturizer for skin barrier repair. With an airy yet rich texture, many have found this to be their holy grail moisturizer in protecting skin barrier from the chilly autumn breeze.

Cicaplast has done wonders for so many people but to others, not so much. For those ‚Äúothers‚ÄĚ that are still on the hunt for a Cicaplast alternative that‚Äôs more suitable for you, we‚Äôve selected some of our own curations as dupes to help you achieve those healthy skin barrier wants and glossy skin goals.

Dupe #1

Etude House Soon Jung Cica Balm

The Etude House Soon Jung 5-Panthensoside Cica Balm is the closest dupe that I can find. When comparing the ingredients, both balm/baume have panthenol and madecassoside as cica for their respective highlights. Panthensoside balm has camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf extract to aid in calming the skin and serve as an additional antioxidant. The main difference between the two balm/baume is the use of squalane oil and shea butter. The panthensoside balm uses squalane to deliver rich moisture in an ultra lightweight fashion whereas the Cicaplast uses shea butter for a more occlusive texture.

Pathensosoide cica balm is more watery and fast absorbing when compared to the Cicaplast. The lightweight yet creamy texture makes this balm more suitable for oily/acne prone skin in the colder months but still a fitting daily morning moisturizer for dry skin. Both balm/baume come in comparable sizes and price: Cicaplast comes in 1.3oz at approximately 15 dollar mark and Etude House Soon Jung 5-Panthensoside Balm comes in 1.4oz for 20 dollars. The proximity in price, size, and ingredients makes the panthensoside cica balm a great dupe for the Cicaplast.

Dupe #2
Rovectin Cica Balm

Rovectin Cica Care Balm is excellent for extra soothing effects. Full caveat: this is not an exact dupe for the Cicaplast due to the lack of panthenol in the product. However, in the Cica Care Balm, there is arginine to moisturize the skin and reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles similar to panthenol. Madecassoside is also higher up on the ingredient list as well as the addition of centella for extra anti-inflammatory effects. There are also other plant extracts such as apple extracts and jasmine extracts for antioxidant boosts. The abundance of caprylic triglyceride makes the balmy texture comparable to that of the Cicaplast.

A notable mention in this product is Calamine. Calamine is used to soothe skin irritation and gives the balm an aesthetically-pleasing baby pink color. The Cica Care Balm comes in 1.35oz at the cost of 25.99. The Cica Care Balm is slightly more expensive than Cicaplast; however, with the ample amounts of antioxidants and skin-soothing ingredients in the product, the Cica Care Balm has much more benefits, is much more safe for sensitive skin-- worth every penny.
