Combination/Dehydrated/Occasional Hormonal Acne
This is my favorite serum as the texture is super lightweight and fast absorbent. It is packed with four different properties of Centella Asiatica Extract along with Niacinamide which makes it ideal for soothing the skin. My absolute favorite part regarding this ampoule is the fact that they included Terpineol, which is derived from Tea Tree Oil, making it super anti-inflammatory but without the latter’s drying effect.

My favorite ampoule that I’ve ever tried. I noticed a difference immediately overnight upon trying it for the first time. The Centella Asiatica in the ampoule has been an absolute lifesaver for combatting my acne and even deflating them. I’ve been getting less and less pimples and they never stick around for long thanks to this.

WHAT TERPINEN-4-OL DOES FOR SKIN

MADECASSOSIDE
Madecassoside, also known as Gota Kola, is an active skin care ingredient derived from the plant Centella asiatica.
In clinical studies, Adecassoside has demonstrated skin healing as well as anti-aging properties in skin. It’s thought that it works in several ways including:
- Controlling inflammation
- Stimulating the synthesis of collagen I et III
- Reducing the activity of enzymes (matrix metallo proteins – MMPs) that contribute to the breakdown of the skin’s matrix or framework
Collagen is one of the major components of the skin dermis. Collagen I plays an important role in wound healing and collagen III is produced by fibroblasts prior to the synthesis of collagen I. Both Collagen I and III are integral components of skin.
Some studies also suggest that madecassoside may be beneficial in the treatment of psoriasis, most probably via its anti-inflammatory action.
Madecassoside may be considered as a useful addition to your skin care regimen either to stimulate wound healing after surgical procedures or to increase collagen synthesis in aging skin.
ASIATICOSIDE
Wound-healing asiaticoside is a triterpenine, a class of chemical compounds produced by plants as part of their self-defense mechanism. It is believed that asiaticoside promotes the production of type I collagen, one of the major components of the skin and which helps the skin retain a plump, youthful appearance.
Here’s an eye-opener: A 2011 study published in journal of chemistry Molecules found that Centella extract stimulated collagen synthesis significantly better than even vitamin C, one of our favorite and most reliable skin care heroes.
ASIATIC ACID
Asiatic Acid is an isolated and purified triterpenic acid of Centella asiatica. It is a skin conditioning agent that is a cosmetic active ingredient for skin care, anti-ageing and replumping applications. Asiatic acid provides anti-microbial, anti-glycation, anti-MMP and anti-oxidant benefits.
